Florida Back-to-School Tax Holiday

Yes, it’s that time of year again…Back-to-School Tax Holiday! First the bad news, our lawmakers in Tallahassee failed to include technology items like new computers in this years Tax Holiday. Last year you were able to get technology items up to $750 state tax free. In 2016 they also lowered the Tax Holiday from ten (10) days to only three (3) days and gave us the added bonus of lowering the clothing limit from $100 to $60.
Now on to the good news, during this Tax Holiday you get a chance to save 6% on many items that your kids will need for the school season. Clothing items under $60 and school supplies up to $15 are state and local tax free.
